The ACT Government encourages the community to avoid the hassles of parking and traffic this weekend by catching an ACTION bus to and from the Spilt Milk music festival on Saturday 3 December 2016.
The event, held in Commonwealth Park from 11 am to 11 pm, will feature a range of artisan street food and drink as well as cutting edge music and experimental art and culture.
A cash fare of $2 will apply to event goers travelling to the event. Just present the driver with your Spilt Milk ticket. This fare covers you for 90 minutes of travel, including transferring from one service to another. You can use your MyWay card to travel to Spilt Milk with fares charged at off peak rates.
ACTION Blue Rapid 900 services will run from major bus stations at Belconnen, Tuggeranong, the City and Woden with services departing every 15 minutes or better all day. From Gungahlin, EPIC and Northbourne Avenue you can catch a 950, 956 or 958 service and transfer onto a Blue Rapid 900 in the City.
Regular route services 932, 934, 935 and 981 will also drop event goers at the bus stops on Commonwealth Avenue (Regatta Point), the closest bus stops to the event.
Free return services will depart from the Regatta Point bus stops on Commonwealth Avenue from 10.30pm to major bus stations. Services to the Woden and Tuggeranong bus stations will depart from the southbound stop 8889 on Commonwealth Avenue. Services to the City, Belconnen and Gungahlin bus stations will depart from the northbound stop 8888 on Commonwealth Avenue.
Following the event for those wishing to continue their night in the city they can also make use of the NEW Night Rider bus service which will run along Red and Blue Rapid routes between the City and major city centres until 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights during the festive season for the cost of a cash or MyWay fare.
Transport Canberra is partnering with Uber to help passengers travel the ‘last mile’ home from major bus stations. Patrons will be able to benefit from Uber promotional codes to get $10 off their ride home between 11 pm and 2.30 am.

The following temporary road closures will be in place to allow the event to take place from 6 am Saturday
3 December until 6 am Sunday 4 December 2016:
- Regatta Place from Albert Street to Barrine Drive
- Albert Street east bound between Barrine Drive and Commonwealth Avenue
- Barrine Drive south bound between Albert Street and car park entry north of Albert Street
Car parks in the north eastern corner between Regatta Place and Barrine Drive will be also be closed until
6 am on Thursday 8 December 2016.
Barriers, warning and diversion signs to be erected on site. Marshals will be available during working hours.
