Floriade visitors reminded to park legally

Released 17/09/2016

Access Canberra is reminding Floriade visitors to park legally. Parking inspectors will be patrolling areas around Commonwealth Park and parking infringement notices will be issued to drivers who park illegally.

Parking illegally can be an inconvenience for others and in some cases puts motorists, cyclists and pedestrians in danger.

It is an offence to park a vehicle on open space such as grassed areas, nature strips, footpaths, road verges and landscaped areas. Signs are in place advising motorists not to park on these areas.

Parking options include:

  • the Parliamentary Triangle
  • London Circuit
  • Canberra Centre
  • National Convention Centre
  • opposite the Canberra Institute of Technology, Constitution Ave, Reid.

Where parking fees apply, they can be paid using the Parkmobile app, credit cards or coins.

Visit the Floriade website at www.floriadeaustralia.com for detailed information and other transport options.

Visitors to Floriade are also encouraged to use to consider other transport alternatives such as the free shuttle service from the Canberra Centre to Floriade.

Free parking for people with limited mobility is available next to the Regatta Point Entry Gate (access off Commonwealth Avenue). Parking is limited and vehicles must display an authorised disability permit.
