Australian Olympic Committee (AOC)

The AOC is a non-profit organisation committed to Australia’s athletes and the development of high performance sport through athlete support and funding initiatives. The AOC’s role also extends to spreading the Olympic Spirit throughout the community.

It is the responsibility of the AOC to fund the selection and travel of Australian athletes to the Olympic Games.

Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG)

The BOCOG was established on December 13, 2001, five months after Beijing won the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games. The BOCOG consisted of 26 departments - responsible for numerous Games functions ranging from venue planning to environmental management.
